In August of 2023, more than 100 cyber security professionals came together in
Brisbane for the inaugural security2cure conference, raising almost $17,000. Little did the attendees and
organising committee know, that this would be the start of something truly humbling and very, very
impactful. It’s not often that the heroes and front line defenders of our Industry are confronted by
their own mortality and then brave enough to discuss it with their peers.

 

Over the course of the day, attendees enjoyed presentations from industry stalwarts, however, all with a very humbling undertone - Talking about Cancer. Living with and surviving Cancer. Losing loved ones from Cancer. Supporting loved ones, friends and community members who have been affected deeply by Cancer. If all we can do is put a conference together to celebrate life, and potentially save lives, isn’t that worth doing again, and again?

In 2024, security2cure is back, and we’re bigger and better than last year! Reaching two cities, Brisbane
and Sydney, we will be bringing more stories of survival, grief, resilience and love from within our
amazing Cyber industry and we welcome one and all to be part of the experience!
